The State of Skills-First & LER Adoption

Wednesday, December 4, 2024

Skills-based hiring is a key lever for expanding our nation’s workforce, and workforce development boards are on the front lines. We’ve captured learnings and trends from partner associations, focus groups, and experts, to compile suggested steps necessary to build a more inclusive workforce and increase workforce participation.

In September we released Workforce Development Board Readiness: Embracing Skills-Based Hiring & Learning and Employment Records (LERs) report containing suggestions for visioning, choosing the right strategies for your market, and managing a very new process connecting more jobseekers to your employers.

Join us to discuss with our panel of experts on December 4, 2024, at 1pm ET during a virtual conversation about the impact of skills-based hiring on workforce development communities across the nation. Let’s explore how each workforce development area can move forward in the continuum of the skills-first transformation with:

Speakers:

  • Taylor Hansen, Executive Director for Policy & Programs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation
  • Dawn Karber, Executive Director, SkillsFWD
  • Dr. Michael Torrence, President, Motlow State Community College (TN)
  • Amanda Winters, Program Director, National Governors Association
