How Do They Do It? From Silos to Systems: Reimagining Workforce Development in Central Ohio

NAWB Members Only

09/10/2026

How Do They Do It? – A Peer Learning Event Series for NAWB Members Only

In Episode VIII: From Silos to Systems: Reimagining Workforce Development in Central Ohio, host Todd Nielsen, Director of Denver Workforce Services, sits down with Scott Johnson, Director of the Central Ohio Workforce Development Network with Aspyr, to discuss how the Central Ohio Workforce Development Network was built to better connect people to opportunity and help employers meet their workforce needs.

Rather than creating another program, the Central Ohio WDN focuses on aligning existing partners—community-based organizations, workforce providers, and public systems—around shared goals, stronger coordination, and a more seamless experience for job seekers. Scott also shares why Aspyr stepped into the role of backbone organization, providing the structure, relationships, and long-term commitment needed to make collaboration work at scale.

Listeners will gain practical insights into what it takes to move from a fragmented service delivery model to a more connected, coordinated, and effective workforce system that better serves both job seekers and employers.
