Advocacy 101

09/03/2026

In advance of the Workforce Impact Summit, and as a refresher for everyone, Gail Silberglied is reviving her popular Advocacy 101 session from The Forum. Effective advocacy starts with the basics – knowing you are allowed to advocate and learning the secrets to being effective. This session will equip workforce leaders with the essential tools to confidently engage policymakers, partners, and community stakeholders. Whether you’re new to advocacy or looking to sharpen your skills, you’ll learn why advocacy is essential (and allowed!), and how to craft a compelling elevator speech, prepare key data and impact stories, develop a one-pager that highlights your successes, and organize site visits that bring your work to life.
