Drew Bercich

Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Bercich is a nationally recognized talent and workforce systems leader with more than two decades of experience building and leading organizations in complex, highly regulated, and fast-changing environments. For most of his career, Andrew worked in the private sector, holding leadership roles at organizations including Amazon, IBM, Comcast, and Charles Schwab, where he led  talent and recruiting operations supporting tens of thousands of hires annually across a diverse range of industries.
Across these roles, Andrew was responsible for operational performance, financial stewardship, and organizational transformation, leading global teams of up to 350 professionals, redesigning operating models, and delivering results under significant business and market pressure. His work on the demand side of the labor market gave him a first-hand understanding of how employers experience talent shortages, skills mismatches, and system friction, and what it takes to translate strategy into execution at scale.
Through this employer-focused work, Andrew partnered extensively with workforce boards and public workforce systems across the country, developing a deep appreciation for their role as conveners and connectors within regional talent ecosystems. Later in his career, he brought his enterprise talent experience more directly into the workforce system as a consultant and one-stop operator, advising workforce boards, state agencies, and regional coalitions on strategy, system design, governance, and execution. This combination of private-sector talent leadership and public-system engagement allows him to bridge employer realities with workforce policy in a practical, results-oriented way.
As Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Workforce Boards, Andrew leads the organization at a pivotal moment for the nation’s workforce system. He is focused on positioning workforce boards as strategic partners in economic competitiveness and talent development, and on ensuring their on-the-ground expertise informs national policy. A central priority of his leadership is advocating for workforce boards and the broader talent system on Capitol Hill—strengthening relationships with federal policymakers, elevating the voice of local leaders, and advancing policies that align employer demand with opportunity for workers and communities.
Andrew brings a steady, collaborative leadership style grounded in operational discipline, innovation, and long-term impact. Under his leadership, NAWB will continue to strengthen its national influence, support workforce boards as system leaders, and help ensure the workforce system is at the forefront of shaping the future of our work.
