Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act Resources

2017 WIOA National Convenings

This spring, the U.S. Department of Labor, in collaboration with its Education and Health and Human Services partners, will host three national convenings to support Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) implementation, building upon the regulations and guidance, virtual training, and resources already available to the system.

April 18–20, 2017: Dallas, TX
May 8–10, 2017: San Diego, CA
May 23–25, 2017: Washington, DC

There is no cost to attend the convenings, but online registration is required. Travel expenses are not covered. Click here for more information.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act was signed into law on July 22, 2014. This legislation, serving as a reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act, directed the workforce system to develop regional plans in conjunction with Adult Education and Vocational Rehabilitation, and develop industry cluster initiatives as an integral part of regional activities.
