The VCN for WIBs

As most in workforce development know, 10 of the 20 fastest growing occupations are healthcare related. The VCN can assist workforce development professionals with helping job seekers identify occupations that may be a good fit, look at demand in their area for different healthcare jobs and connect jobseekers to local and online training and education programs.

Additionally, members of a WIB who work in healthcare could use the VCN to help identify career advancement opportunities for existing staff, send job applicants to the site for additional training or information and use the videos and occupational tools to help recruiters find better suited applicants.

About the VCN

The American Association of Community Colleges and its partners developed the VCN through a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Partner organizations include: American Council on Education, Department of Defense's Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Lab, Direct Employers Association, ed2go, iSeek Solutions, Jobs for the Future, National Association of State Workforce Agencies, National Association of Workforce Boards, The American Dental Education Association and XPAND Corporation.

Additionally, DOL funded SER National, Goodwill Industries International and the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services to help prepare workers to enter healthcare. For more information, visit www.vcn.org.
