Sector strategies are a proven method for connecting the workforce system with business by strategically positioning the workforce system to be demand-driven.  Learn how to get started, who should be the stakeholders, how to rally the workforce system, how to fund it, and how to sustain it for the long run.

WIB/Community College Partnerships
Hosted and Presented by: NAWB, the California Workforce Association, and the American Association of Community Colleges. Presenters will represent national, state, and local perspectives, expertise, and examples.

WIBS and community colleges have new responsibility and opportunity to engage in meaningful, mutually-beneficial, and sustainable partnerships. This session will present proven models for partnerships and will also provide an opportunity for participants to dig into and resolve specific challenges you face in building strong partnerships. You will leave with tools and resources for you to use back in your regions.

Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems - Leveraging the Power of Linking Education and Workforce Data
Presented by: Tom Lindsley, Director of Federal Relations, ACT and Bi Vuong, Senior Associate, Data Quality Campaign

This workshop session will include an interactive seminar and breakout groups focused on the Data Quality Campaign, will share information on what you can do with linked education and workforce data and what it means to your work in the workforce development system, how to leverage these initiatives in your state, and how to benefit from them.

How to Become a G.R.E.A.T. WIB - Unlocking Your Community’s Potential During a Difficult Economy

Calculating and Leveraging Your Region’s GreenShare

Stories matter. They help us understand the world around us, learn from each other, and compel us to take action. We need to tell our story so we can effectively advocate, engage, and inspire positive change.  This session will help you learn strategies for succeeding on all three levels.
