NAWB Forum 2008

Awards

NAWB Forum 2009 Award Nominations are now closed. This year NAWB is offering two award categories, the Theodore E. Small Workforce Partnership Award and the W.O. Lawton Business Leadership Award.

Theodore E. Small Workforce Partnership Award

NAWB believes that the WIB’s ability to create partnerships is one of its primary
functions and the endeavor that can generate the most benefit for the community. Each
year NAWB offers the Theodore E. Small Workforce Partnership Award to highlight how
WIBs and their partners have created innovative solutions for the workforce issues in
their communities. The award has become a hallmark of excellence among WIBs.

W.O Lawton Business Leadership Award

One of the primary roles of Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs) is to build relationships between business and the public partners such as economic development organizations, education providers, community and faith-based organizations. WIBs that have been successful have made every effort to make their services and initiatives relevant and accessible to business. However, this is only successful when a business steps up and makes a commitment to be a full partner in the Board’s endeavors. NAWB wants to honor those businesses and business organizations that made the commitment of time, money, and leadership to make their community’s workforce and economy more vibrant. Here is your chance to honor and recognize the business partner in your area that has made a difference.

Award winners from both categories will be recognized at the Forum’s Award Luncheon and General Session on Monday, March 9, 2009.
