The Federal Bonding Program

Since 1966, The Federal Bonding Program (FBP), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, has been successful as a unique job placement tool for at-risk applicants, particularly ex-offenders.  The program's fidelity bonds provide insurance guaranteeing job honesty, and serve as an employer incentive for hiring needy individuals.  There is currently bonding available in 46 states either through the state's workforce agency, corrections agency, or various community based organizations.  Bonds are free to the employer and job seeker for 6 months and cover employee theft, fraud or embezzlement.
