LED Data Available to WIBs Via Census Web Site

The U.S. Census Bureau has launched a re-designed web site (http://lehd.dsd.census.gov) that could be of great benefit and interest to WIBs. The site provides access to a potentially powerful resource to WIBs, Local Employment Dynamics (LED) data. These data are particularly useful to WIBs both in terms of getting a better picture of the local workforce and providing assistance to employers in their area. The web site can produce customized reports that provide information on top industries or about the local workforce or you can download the information to do your own analysis. Available on the site are Quarterly Workforce Indicators that include key labor market measures such as employment, hiring, jobs gains and losses, turnover, and earnings that are for the first time available by geographic area, industry, age, and gender over time.
