Diverse Group

As America recovers in a jobless era, our role as Workforce Investment Board members becomes even more critical to the nation’s rebuilding efforts.  While state and local budget cuts continue in 2010 and federal stimulus support dwindles throughout the course of the year, how do we collectively work together to bring our important mission to the forefront?

As our economy transforms, so do our roles as workforce advocates.  And, that’s the new view we’re taking with this year’s membership packages.  NAWB will be providing our members with new tools, better information, and a greater connection with each other as a community.  Together we will build a stronger voice and establish a greater presence across the nation.

Does America really understand who we are and what we bring to the table?  This year, we will be making sure that it does, as we launch a National Workforce Development Campaign.  While our NAWB Annual Forum will continue to be a premier event for Boards to network and learn, our new tools being developed this year will help you work smarter and not harder.  NAWB online communities will allow you to share information with your colleagues across the country 24/7, 365 days a year, and tap into workforce innovations and models that work. And because community is a critical theme in our membership packages, we’ve added a presence on the west coast with a staff member to support professional development and special initiatives. Our teams will be available to you on the ground, via phone and digital conferencing, and through online meetings and webinars to help support policy efforts and strategic partnership development at the local level. Check out our new list of member benefits below.
